Urban soul guitarist John Carey, a Palm Springs local, will release his new smooth jazz single" Out on the Town" this November 2010. "Out On the Town" is the first single to be released from his new debut CD “Out on the Town" which is due to be released June of 2011. John R. Carey, a Chicago native and now Palm Springs resident has been compared to the likes of guitar legends Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana by fans and locals. However, This CD will appeal to those who listen to artist such as Norman Brown, Chuck Loeb, Larry Carlton, and George Benson. John Carey has mesmerized audiences nationwide with his rhythmic, warm, sultry, soulful sounds and thought provoking lyrics while maintaining a delicate balance of the classical sounds of jazz, soul, blues, and R&B, with some new finely-tuned mysterious mixtures. John has previously recorded 4 independently released CD’s (2000, “Passion”, 2003 “Doves of Paradise” 2007,” The John Carey Xperience and 2009 co-wrote the soundtrack to the play ”What Would You Do." John's musical journey has given him the oportunity to tour and play with The Chi-Lites, as well as to open for such as Natalie Cole, George Benson, & Earth Wind and Fire, Ledisi, Warren Hill, Queen Latifah, Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Mindi Abair, Norman Brown, Al Jarreau, and otherss at the McCallum Theatre. You can see John Carey performing with Theo Coakely (Smooth Brothers) weekly Thursdays & Saturdays 6pm – 11pm at Sullivan’s Steak House in Palm Desert, Ca.
